Revisiting my habit tracking

About 10 years ago, I stumbled upon a habit-tracking guide called Kratos Guide (KG).
It included a for me novel approach to tracking one’s new habits. Via an excel sheet and ticking off what habits have been done that day.
But most importantly for a 16-year-old me, it had a list of habits the writer found essential.

Krato’s 16 daily habits

  1. Exercise
  2. Meditation
  3. Reading
  4. Creative Recreation
  5. Nutrition
  6. Reasonable Spending
  7. Brain Buster + Current Events
  8. Social
  9. Personal Management
  10. Project 1, 2 or more times a week
  11. Podcast/TED Talk/University Lecture
  12. Language
  13. Plan the next day
  14. Sleep
  15. Professional Development
  16. Journal + Research

Why revisit?

Over the years, I have implemented some of these and also failed at implementing some of them.
Now that I have reached my late twenties, it is time to revisit and reimplement my habits.

Essential Habits IMHO

  1. Nutrition: Fresh Food, less processed, the better.
  2. Sleep: At least 5h per night
  3. Exercise: I agree with the author of KG that Exercise is essential.
  4. Meditation: Exercise for the Body. Meditate for the mind. But both benefit the Body and Mind
  5. Reasonable Spending Personal Finance: Most of us, including myself, are not part of the super-rich. It is crucial for us to manage our finances.
These 5 habits are the most essential in my opinion. They are ranked in order of importance.
In my opinion having a good habit of taking care of these 5, but you in the right starting Position to add others.
Note: Personal Finance includes your job, mortage, rent etc. . Personal Goal 1: Implement all of these in my daily life

Different stages in life

Currently I am writing my master thesis and will be entering the job market after. For this reasons some habits are more important to me for obvious reasons:

  1. Professional Development: Everything I learn and study during my thesis should be important for my later job.
    • Research and Reading are a part of this habit
    • Write: Training how to express yourself
  2. Plan the next day: Time is of essence during a thesis.
    • Journal

Additional habits, but not essential

Thee are extras I deem important, but not essential. I will implement them once all the others are implemented

  • Language: I completed the first 50% of A1 Chinese and plan on keeping a daily habit of revising.
  • Social
